How can I get away from Adobe and onto something new?

The very first time I was fascinated by technology is when kinetic typography lyric videos first became trendy. I was fascinated by a Green Day fan who uploaded these videos to YouTube several times per year. He used programs called Sony Vegas Pro and Adobe After Effects.

Today, Vegas Pro isn’t even owned by Sony. Instead, it’s just called Vegas Pro. At the time, you could purchase the full version of Vegas Pro for $299.99. For me, that was expensive. I was only in high school.

Fast-forward to today and Vegas Pro is currently available for purchase at three monthly subscription models: video editing, video and audio, and post-production. I really can’t understand why they divide it up like that because it’s hard to understand the differences between them but regardless, you can never really “own” Vegas Pro.
