WWDC 2021 Recap: iOS 15, FaceTime links, Safari redesign, Mail Privacy, and more
A quick look at everything announced from Apple’s annual summer event.
Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference is upon us. Each year, Apple’s summer event has been the home to iOS, macOS, and other software announcements. In previous years, the event has brought us widgets, a new flat design for iPhones, iPadOS which gave the iPad a class of its own in regards to how much potential a tablet can have, among other cool new features for the tech giant’s devices.
As we discussed last week, Apple has a lot in store for WWDC 2021. This morning, the hashtag promotion, #WWDC21, on Twitter was featured alongside iMessage with the “emphasize” reaction. Prior to the show, we knew that Apple wanted to make iMessage “more like a social network” similar to WhatsApp.
This year’s WWDC went back to a version we’re somewhat used to in year’s past. No, there was no audience. But Apple CEO Tim Cook did appear on a stage…in front of an audience of Memojis. As usual, this year’s event was a pre-recorded video with high production quality.
There’s a lot in store for the next iOS update, along with some new hardware, so let’s get right into what went down at WWDC this year.
